  203.                              HOW TO START THE GAME

  205.          To start Nebula, use the following instructions.
  206.  
  207.               1.  Start your computer in the usual manner.
  208.               2.  Insert the game disk into Drive A.
  209.               3.  Type A: and press Enter.
  210.               4.  Type NEBULA and press Enter.
  211.               5.  Follow the instructions on the screen.
  212.  
  213.               To start Dark Continent you would use the same steps
  214.          as shown for Nebula, only at step 4 you would type DARKCON
  215.          instead of NEBULA.  If you are using a monochrome monitor
  216.          or a one color graphics monitor you should add an M to the
  217.          end of step 4, (e.g. NEBULA M).  This will allow the screen
  218.          to be more readable on these monitors.

  222.                                   HOW TO PLAY
  223.  
  224.               A text adventure is a fictional novel in which you
  225.          are the main character.  You will be given a quest which you
  226.          must successfully complete.  You may also be asked to
  227.          collect treasures during your travels.
  228.  
  229.               Your PC will become your guide.  It will tell you what
  230.          it sees and hears, and will obey your commands, (most of the
  231.          time).  Although it speaks fluent English, it has trouble
  232.          understanding long sentences.  Please limit your commands to
  233.          not more than two words, with the verb as the first word
  234.          (e.g.  throw ball).  If the computer does not know or
  235.          understand a word, it will tell you so.  In that case, please
  236.          use another word of similar meaning.

  238.               We strongly advise you to build a map during your
  239.          travels so that you can easily return to previously explored
  240.          areas.

  242.               The computer will give you the following information at
  243.          the start of each round of play:
  244.  
  245.               1.  A description of your current location.
  246.               2.  Items that you can see at this location.
  247.               3.  Directions in which you can move (n-north, s-south,
  248.                   e-east, w-west, u-up, d-down)
  249.               4.  Treasures will be marked by an '*' before and after
  250.                   the word.

  252.          You must then respond by typing the action you wish to
  253.          perform.

  278.               Help - for clues or advice
  279.               Quit - to stop playing

  282.             U,D,N,S,E,W - which mean go up, go down, go north, etc.
